At the dawn of this year, we shared a vision rooted in purpose and promise. Inspired by Habakkuk 2:2—“Write the vision and make it plain”—and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s rallying cry, “If you build it, they will come,” we stepped into 2025 with a dream: to help rewrite the narrative of African cinema and animation from the heart of Nigeria.

Today, we’re proud to say that this dream is taking shape—brick by brick, frame by frame. And as we move forward, one truth guides everything we do at Paitan Media:

1. The Rise of a Legend: Our Historical Epic

Every generation has its stories—tales of courage, sacrifice, and transformation. Our first live capture feature film is an historical epic that brings one such legend to life, drawn from the soul of our culture and the spirit of our ancestors.

We’ve officially brought a production management company on board to steer this ambitious project, and we are now deep into the scriptwriting phase. This is not just about writing scenes—it’s about honoring history, celebrating identity, and crafting a story that future generations will remember.

This film isn’t just for Nigeria—it’s for the world. A bold declaration that Africa has always had heroes. And now, we will bring them to the screen.

2. Where Imagination Meets Innovation: Our Animated Short

In parallel, we’re pushing creative boundaries with our experimental animated short film—a five-minute exploration of visual storytelling at the intersection of art and technology. We’ve partnered with three dynamic artists from Animation Nigeria, and the synergy has been nothing short of visionary.

With story development complete, we’ve moved into 3D asset creation, using cutting-edge tools like Houdini and Unreal Engine to sculpt an immersive world that captures the depth of African imagination.

This short isn’t just about showcasing technique—it’s about illuminating new pathways for African animators, creators, and dreamers. It’s our way of saying: Africa doesn’t just follow trends. Africa sets them.

These projects are more than milestones—they’re markers of a movement. A movement driven by purpose, powered by innovation, and rooted in the belief that Nigeria—and Africa—can lead the world in digital storytelling, animation, and VFX.
